The purpose of this app is to explore Māori traditions and knowledge around the Māori new year period and the stars that traditionally herald it, Matariki and Puanga. Activities include exploring the stars, painting, drawing, story-writing, singing original waiata, meditation, puzzles, games and more.

Features include synchronised narration in te reo Māori and English, tap to hear pronunciation of te reo Māori words, record your own narration and songs, export pages and files to share with whānau and friends, and multiple interactive puzzles and activities on the theme of Te Mātahi o te Tau specifically designed for the 0-6 years age group.

The App is designed for iPads and tablets, for use in education settings. Features are available also on smartphones including full narration in English and te reo Māori; although there are some limitations due to screen size. Print versions also available.
