Toitoi is an interactive learning resource that celebrates the ideas, imaginations and creative spirit of New Zealand’s young writers and artists.

The project is part of the Latin America CAPEs education offerings which aim to inspire New Zealanders to gain understanding of the countries of Latin America and to help parents, teachers and students gain global competence with a focus on that region.

The app features interactive text and audio features that allows readers to listen to the stories and poems in translation, tap to hear individual words and spellings, and even record their own narration.

All the written pieces have been translated into languages of the region, creating a multilingual app in English, Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese.
